Proudly situated in one of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur's matured residential enclaves, Nusa Rhu offers a level of privacy and tranquillity in the city that few other developments can match. Having recognised the upscale nature of the address and taken the owner’s tastes into account, the team at Metrics Global created an elegant and warm interior that delicately balances vintage aesthetics with modern elements.
The large wall to the right of the apartment features eight striking round crafted pieces. The customised yellow, black and white art are handwoven, as part of a rural community craft initiative project, from Sarawak, Borneo. "The Magic of Upcycling" is an award winning project. The circular framework that forms the foundation of the weaving are discarded table fan covers (17") and industrial fan covers (27"). Handmade by a community of women, brightly coloured polymer box straps are intricately woven through the spokes of the metal frame.
This product was accorded the Award of Excellence for Handicraft in 2018, by the World Craft Council (Asia-Pacific Region).
